There’s always a certain chaos that comes with fashion week, fuelling the buzz before the lights go down. Justin Cassin’s show this year was no different. Having attended the 2022 and 2023 runway shows, I remembered both years being packed to the brim—people struggled to find their seats, and fashion’s fiasco became part of the experience. This season, I found myself in the front row close enough to see the stitching, the fabric’s movement, and the intention behind each piece.

Justin Cassin’s latest collection focus into wearability, grounding itself in the familiar language of modern menswear: monochrome palettes, loose silhouettes, and an emphasis on texture and flow. Standout pieces included wide-leg, high-waisted khaki trousers with generous volume, paired with a sleeveless cream vest featuring a built-in scarf detail. The look felt elegant and casual, creating a sense of a slow summer.

Another look—a sheer white organza shirt paired with flowing light-lavender trousers—offered a softer, more romantic tone. The transparency of the fabric, combined with its oversized silhouette, gave the outfit an ethereal, almost weightless quality. Then came the contrast: a monochromatic all-black ensemble featuring an open jacket with relaxed-fit trousers creating a sleek and commanding, highlighting the brand’s tailoring capabilities.

The blue-on-blue set, featuring a short-sleeved button-up and matching relaxed trousers, hinted at retro workwear influences. Visible stitching and somewhat sturdy-looking fabric brought a utilitarian element, offsetting the softer pieces that came before. Rounding out the show was a light cream utility jacket paired with grey trousers; it's oversized, boxy, and inherently wearable.

The strength of the collection lay in its textures and silhouettes, proving that Justin Cassin clearly understands how clothes should move, drape, and live on the body. But as the show unfolded, it became clear that the label is experimenting with multiple narratives at once: soft romanticism, structured utility, and minimal tailoring. While each direction was compelling on its own, together they sometimes blurred into an identity that felt slightly uncertain.
