Have you ever thought about shapewear for men? It wasn’t on our radar until we saw SOLÁ’s latest post. Founded by Filipina beauty queen Kylie Verzosa, who won the Miss International title in 2016, SOLÁ is now pushing the boundaries with its debut collection of men’s shapewear.
While shapewear for men isn’t an entirely new concept—available on platforms like Temu and Amazon or through brands like 2xist—its presence in the Philippine fashion scene is not common. Unlike in Western cultures, where men’s shapewear is somewhat known, it remains relatively obscure in the Philippines. SOLÁ’s men’s shapewear collection aims to change that by offering garments to enhance comfort and confidence. The collection includes: boxer sculpting shorts, a short-sleeve sculpting shirt, and a sleeveless sculpting shirt. Each piece is crafted with a focus on strong, tight, and controlled compression around the core, stomach, and upper thighs or torso, enhancing both appearance and functionality. According to Verzosa’s latest interview with L’Officiel Philippines, the men’s collection is focused on finding the right amount of compression.

In addition, SOLÁ’s inclusivity is also what makes them good. Unlike Skims by Kim Kardashian, which has yet to offer men’s shapewear and focuses primarily on underwear and basics, SOLÁ’ is pioneering this niche with a dedicated shapewear line for men. The price sits between 1,225 PHP and 1,425 PHP, which is quite affordable, especially considering its specialised design. So everyone, please take note that this is not just regular underwear; it's shapewear, hence the price.
Launched just four days ago, SOLÁ’s new line is poised to make waves. Given the rising trend of men’s fashion consciousness in the Philippines, this innovative collection is likely to find an audience.
