The most memorable fashion moments at Cannes are often the ones that introduce a new way of thinking about clothing and its place within the broader cultural landscape. During the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, Ira Langevin did precisely that.

At the eighth annual WIBA Awards, held at the iconic Hôtel Martinez, the designer unveiled a series of couture creations that embodied the philosophy behind her young but increasingly distinctive house. Worn by personalities including Coco Rocha, Chiara King, Aliia Roza, Zarina Yeva, and Simona Prochazkova, the pieces brought an architectural presence to one of fashion's most visible stages.

Founded in 2023, Ira Langevin approaches clothing as a form of artistic and intellectual expression. Architecture, philosophy, theater, jewelry, and visual art all inform its creative language, resulting in garments that feel closer to cultural artifacts than conventional red-carpet dressing.

That perspective is deeply rooted in the personal history of its founder. Raised between Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Ira Langevin developed an early fascination with proportion, form, and beauty. The monumental architecture of Soviet cities, close observation of nature, and an instinctive attraction to craftsmanship became the foundation of a creative worldview that would later define the house. Long before establishing her label, she explored disciplines ranging from dramaturgy and visual arts to international relations and jewelry design, experiences that continue to shape the multidisciplinary nature of her work.

At Cannes, those influences were visible. Chiara King appeared in the maison's signature Origami Dress, a sculptural design distinguished by precise pleating and architectural construction. Rather than relying on embellishment, the piece achieved its impact through structure alone, transforming fabric into a wearable form of sculpture. Coco Rocha selected a reinterpretation of the Origami Dress featuring an inverted construction that amplified movement and volume. Elsewhere, Aliia Roza wore a dramatic black-and-white couture creation defined by bold graphic contrasts, while Zarina Yeva chose a white gown distinguished by its clean silhouette. Each look reflected the maison's commitment to craftsmanship, limited production, and rigorous artistic research.

The appearance at Cannes marked another step in the evolution of Ira Langevin. Though still in their early years, they have established a unique creative language, one that draws equally from fashion and contemporary art and where every garment is conceived to be remembered.
