For Spring/Summer 2027, Auralee approached travel as a small shift in the way a person returns to daily life. Ryota Iwai’s collection was built around traces of movement: a color remembered from a street sign, the weight of a bag on the shoulder, and the way clothes begin to carry the memory of the places they have passed through. The collection proposed a wardrobe for people navigating between work and rest, home and elsewhere, and routine and discovery, all set against a backdrop of heat, mobility, and a renewed focus on wearable clothes.

A long navy coat worn over a shirt and tie opened the idea through tailoring, establishing a vertical, urban silhouette, less like someone entering an office than leaving a station. The cap, tinted glasses, and red shoulder bag shifted the look out of office mode and into movement. Gray and taupe suits continued that shift, with jackets sitting away from the body, trousers falling with soft volume, and layered shirts and knits making the clothes feel collected through use, as if each layer had been added along the way. A blue pouch worn at the chest looked like a passport holder or travel document, turning utility into part of the silhouette.

What separates Auralee from many brands working in minimal menswear is that the clothes never depend on plainness alone. The house has long built its strength through cloth, and here the fabrics carried the idea of travel convincingly. Dry jackets, pale summer trousers, washed denim, leather shorts, breathable layers, and soft knits suggested garments that had been packed, unpacked, worn in the heat, and folded back into everyday life. The beige jacket with cream trousers and red sneakers captured that mood well, turning city dressing into something touched by sunlight.

Navy, grey, cream, and taupe formed the base, but the stronger moments came through flashes of blue, orange, turquoise, red, and green. A glossy blue leather jacket worn over faded trousers brought workwear into sharper focus, while bright blue leather shorts beneath a dark blouson created a clean clash between urban control and summer exposure. The orange shirt-and-short set, framed by a beige blazer, made holiday dressing feel possible in the city. 

A Fair Isle vest worn over loose denim showed how the strongest looks understood proportion as memory, carrying something collegiate and familiar while the styling made it feel newly activated. A turquoise hooded jacket cocooned the upper body, while cropped trousers kept the silhouette agile, like weatherwear seen through the optimism of travel. Even the darker double-breasted suit, worn with checked details and sandals, loosened its formality until it felt like tailoring caught between a commute, a holiday, and the heat of the street.

By the final navy coat, Auralee had returned to length, calm, and clarity. The message was not that travel transforms the wearer completely but that it adjusts the way they dress, and in Iwai’s hands, that slight shift was enough.
