A week ago, we visited Mejuri’s newly opened boutique at Emporium Melbourne. Founded in 2013 by Noura Sakkijha alongside her husband, Majed Masad, the brand was built on the idea that fine jewelry should be worn every day and bought for yourself, rather than saved for milestones or given only by someone else. After moving from Jordan to Canada to complete her MBA, Sakkijha worked as an engineer by day and developed Mejuri at night, eventually winning over investors after two years of building the business. Since then, the brand has sold more than three million pieces.


Mejuri also makes jewellery for men, although we have never believed jewellery needs to be gendered. A ring is a ring, a chain is a chain, and when you are spending real money on something that sparkles, it should be well made and worth wearing often. That philosophy is precisely where Mejuri excels, creating polished pieces that sit naturally within an everyday wardrobe.


The best of them can be worn alone or added to an existing stack, bringing just enough detail to tailoring, knitwear, denim, or a simple white shirt.
