For The Record, One Louis Vuitton Pocket Organiser Is Never Enough

Over the years, this staple has been revisited across numerous collections, including the Supreme collaboration in 2017, Virgil Abloh’s “Zoooom With Friends” designs for Spring/Summer 2021 and the 2023 Yayoi Kusama collaboration.

Collecting Louis Vuitton Pocket Organisers makes perfect sense to anyone who owns three pressings of the same album. Having a favourite hardly rules out wanting another edition. Classic Monogram has its place, as do a cartoon dragon and Kusama’s dots, each bringing a different character to the same compact wallet. Choosing between them becomes part of getting dressed, much like choosing a record to suit the evening. The cards stay the same, but the mood changes.

Before the collaborations, the Pocket Organiser already had a life, with The RealReal cataloguing a green Taïga leather version dated to 1995. A compact wallet for cards and small papers, it slips neatly into a jacket or trouser pocket. Its uncomplicated shape gives the house room to play with texture, colour and print. Over the years, this staple has been revisited across numerous collections, including the Supreme collaboration in 2017, Virgil Abloh’s “Zoooom With Friends” designs for Spring/Summer 2021 and the 2023 Yayoi Kusama collaboration.

Measuring 7.5 by 11.1 centimetres and just one centimetre deep, the Pocket Organiser has 3 card slots, 5 internal pockets and an exterior pocket for something you reach for often. It comes in coated canvas, Epi and Taïga leather, with more elaborate editions in crocodile leather. Louis Vuitton currently lists the classic Monogram version at AUD$675, making it a relatively accessible starting point for collecting the house’s designs, while more playful versions can start at AUD$785.

Among the more memorable past releases is a version from the late Virgil Abloh’s Spring/Summer 2021 “Zoooom with Friends” universe. Its green cartoon dragon, set against white Monogram-embossed leather, brings some of the collection’s mischievous energy to an otherwise sensible wallet.

Two years later, the Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama collaboration introduced an edition with red dots scattered over black Taurillon Monogram leather. The repetition changes the rhythm of the surface, allowing Kusama’s visual language to play against the house’s own. For a collector interested in the relationship between fashion and art, the connection to the artist is immediately recognisable.

In 2025, Louis Vuitton introduced its LV Sport designs, which find their humour in scale by placing miniature athletes across coloured Monogram coated canvas. The orange version is particularly charming, transforming the surface into a miniature clay tennis court marked with crisp white lines. Tiny players, scattered tennis balls and elongated shadows bring the scene to life from a bird’s-eye perspective.

Whichever one you own or have your eye on, please remember, gents: avoid overfilling the pockets, protect printed surfaces from abrasion and return your organiser to its protective pouch between outings. Louis Vuitton also advises keeping it away from direct sunlight, heat and damp.

With a little care, a Pocket Organiser can stay in your rotation for a long time. Choose the print that still makes you look twice, the color you keep coming back to or the collaboration that means something to you. Like the records you return to year after year, these are the editions that earn a lasting place in your collection. The classic remains a favourite, even if it no longer has the shelf to itself.
