Pharrell Williams’ latest Louis Vuitton pre-fall menswear collection makes perfect sense once you understand the fantasy: summer in New York, seen through Central Park, West Village sidewalks, Upper East Side errands, Brooklyn brownstones, and weekends that feel quietly Hamptons-adjacent. It is a world of dogs on morning walks, milk cartons from the corner bodega, tennis whites, padel pouches, and men who somehow look completely relaxed in matching sets.

Indigo, denim, pale summer blue, and deep damoflage tones gave the wardrobe a clean, coastal ease. The classics carried it especially well. The Keepall, Pocket Organizer, and Speedy all appeared in Indigo Blue Damoflage coated canvas, a clever reworking of the house’s Damier that recalled Louis Vuitton’s Patchwork Denim from 2019.

The strongest ready-to-wear looks came through the coordinating sets. Pharrell understands that modern luxury is not always about one heroic statement piece. Occasionally, it is about making getting dressed feel effortless. A patch-denim blouson jacket with matching shorts, a light organic-cotton short-sleeve shirt worn with coordinated shorts, and sporty terry-cotton tennis sets gave the collection an easy, put-together charm. The terry pieces, embossed with a Damier motif and finished with white stripes at the sleeves and ribbed collar, carried that country-club-meets-city-court energy Louis Vuitton has been circling so well lately.

Sport, tennis in particular, remained one of the collection’s clearest codes. Striped polos, tennis caps, a Keepall tennis bag, and paddle-inspired accessories gave the collection an East Coast social-club sensibility: preppy, but loosened; expensive, but playful. They were pieces made to move from the Central Park courts to lunch uptown without a full change, and it was easy to picture Alcaraz in them after another victory.

That playfulness reached its peak in the accessories. The Milk Bag, Inner Tube, Padel Pouch, and Shiba Bag gave the collection its wink. The Shiba Bag, in particular, was wonderfully unserious in the best way: plush shearling met Monogram canvas, with the motif extending across the handles and adjustable strap. It was whimsical and surprisingly practical, with enough interior space for daily essentials.

Among the standouts was the collarless jacket, crafted from organic cotton-blend tweed in a soft speckled beige and finished with pearlescent buttons, braided trim at the pockets and cuffs, and a leather signature patch on the left sleeve. It brought a certain dandyness to the summer city wardrobe. The Clutch Box in indigo Damoflage was another highlight: compact, hard-sided, and deeply crafted, with seven tones of a single pigment creating its denim-like nuance. It may be the most interesting accessory in the entire collection.

Overall, the collection felt embedded, wearable, and assured. Pharrell’s New York is not gritty or overstated. It is a lifestyle narrative of polished errands, curated leisure, and beautiful objects made for daily movement.
