Homme Plissé Issey Miyake is known for their garment pleating and making a universal everyday wear. They are one of the few brands out there that you easily distinguish and make you go, “That’s an Issey Miyake piece right there.” For Spring/Summer 2026, the house picked up their paintbrush and created a collection that is full of life and colour. From the solemn grace of ancient architecture to sun-drenched hillsides and the patina of worn city corners, the collection captures Italy’s spirit with artful precision.

The collection includes a long collarless jacket and a long double-breasted jacket that was crafted with laser-sharp precision to toe the line between structure and ease. Some pieces mimic the breezy texture of linen, nodding to warm-weather ease while still staying true to the brand’s sculptural DNA. There were also workwear-coded pieces; jackets and trousers featured utilitarian pocket placement in varied shapes and sizes, serving both design and practicality to the point where you could almost imagine a painter slipping tools into these pockets between strokes on canvas. 

Some of the best pieces include an oversized, flowy shirt splattered with vivid orange pigment; it reads less like a garment and more like an asymmetric cape, making it a true impressionist piece in motion. The multi-coloured, wide-legged trousers that looked like an artist’s paint-splattered uniform captured the core thesis of the collection: life is messy, colourful, and beautifully layered. 

Translucent trench coats floated down the runway, catching every breeze and glimmer of light. Soft knits in sorbet tones introduced texture and warmth, offering a tactile contrast to the signature pleats. It felt like the brand exhaling—stretching into new territory without losing its essence. Lastly, pyjama-inspired sets arrived in subtly pleated Oxford stripes, creating a dreamy balance between tailored and relaxed, polished and undone.

Spring/Summer 2026 is asking us to slow down. To see the art in everyday moments. To dress not just for the world, but for ourselves. Because sometimes, the most meaningful style isn’t the loudest—it’s the one that captures how we live, move, and feel.
