Tamu McPherson was born in Jamaica but moved to New York City at the age of six. She pursued higher education at Binghamton University, where she studied literature and rhetoric and further honed her skills by earning a JD/MBA from Fordham Law and Business Schools, laying the foundation for her multifaceted career.
Her journey into the fashion industry began in 2006, when she started capturing street-style photographs for Glamour.It, paving the way for her to dive deeper into fashion journalism. She has written feature pieces for publications like Vogue Pelle and Elle Italia, where her unique perspective and keen eye for style have gained attention. Eventually, she served as the Editor-In-Chief of Grazia, proving her ability to produce engaging editorial content.
In 2008, McPherson founded All The Pretty Birds, a platform dedicated to celebrating individual style and diversity. She also founded Shoe Up For Justice, an e-commerce store with a mission to advocate for social causes. In addition, McPherson is also the Corporate Social Responsibility Ambassador of Bulgari, where she spearheaded Bulgari’s Save The Children Initiative in 2022, leveraging her platform to support meaningful causes and effect change on a global scale.
