Whispers on the fashion boulevard suggest that Germanier might just be the future of couture, and with their ingenious use of upcycled fabrics in every collection, it’s easy to see why. Despite the industry—bless its polyester-clad heart—finally starts to recognize its colossal impact on the planet, there’s still plenty of work to be done. Germanier is already giving us a glimpse of a greener future in fashion—one that’s still vibrant, audacious, and unabashedly chic.

For Spring Couture 2025, Germanier’s collection, “Les Globuleuses”—which, thanks to Google Translate, we now know means "The Globules"— draws inspiration from the smallest of things: particles, droplets, and globules. The collection sparkles with these tiny, almost imperceptible details, like beads and other playful embellishments, sculpting dresses and sharply tailored blazers that embody sculptural elegance. It’s this fusion of the whimsical and the visionary—both childlike and futuristic—that’s baked into Germanier’s DNA. So, it’s no wonder that even Emily Cooper, with her admittedly tasteful fashion choices (yes, we love her style), has found herself swooning over it.

And just when we thought the brand couldn’t get any bolder, they throw in a piece of fashion history: a reworked Givenchy jacket—yes, you read that correctly. The audacity, the audacity of Germanier to breathe new life into such a revered relic of the fashion world. It’s a move that’s both cheeky and genius, paying homage to the past while flipping it on its head in the most refreshing way possible.

The menswear front is an uptownman's dream. Think collarless jackets dripping with beads and crystals, turning into abstract artwork—it’s a parade of texture and creativity. However, compared to the womenswear, the menswear is a bit more... subdued. But that’s not to say it’s boring. Think coral reef-inspired dresses, ultra-knee-high boots, dresses made from pens and pencils, and a show-stopping all-white ensemble, which conjures images of a majestic white peacock—elegant, regal, and just a touch otherworldly.

All in all, the collection draws clear inspiration from what Germanier has done in ready-to-wear, but it also showcases the brand’s boundless potential, proving that they’ve earned a seat at the haute couture table. What we’ve seen up until now has just been droplets of the brand’s talent. There’s so much more to come. Germanier has been a sprinkle of excitement to the vanilla-ness of RTW; perhaps they could add a little extra flair to the haute couture world too.
