In my recent visit to the charming island of Boracay, I found myself enchanted by a film called “Family Of Two”, a touching story of a mother and son. Alden Richards stars as Matty, a marketing agency employee tasked with developing a marketing campaign for a café. Drawing inspiration from his mother, Maricar, portrayed by the iconic Sharon Cuneta, Matty and his colleague designed a campaign centered on the idea that coffee is our lifelong essential for work, socializing, and every special moment. The Smooth Cafe in Boracay perfectly embodies this concept, offering a unique atmosphere where coffee truly feels like a lifelong partner.

The Smooth Cafe has two picturesque beachfront locations: a cozy stall at Station Two and a two-story café in Station Three. Inside the actual café, there is a saxophone player that plays a smooth melody that instantly calms your mind while browsing their wide range of beverages and dishes (vegetarian and vegan options are available). On my first visit, the barista recommended the Spanish Latte, a delightful concoction of a double shot of espresso with steamed and condensed milk. It was sweet and smooth, a perfect match for the café's ambiance. The food was equally impressive; the cordon bleu—chicken breast fillet stuffed with ham and cheese—was outstanding, despite the chicken being slightly overcooked. The chicken wrap with potato chips, however, was flawless. Even though they forgot our pasta order, the overall experience was still superb, leaving no room for disappointment.

The Smooth Cafe has that rare warmth that you would normally get from your dearest friends and family, bringing out the best conversations and cherished memories. It’s the kind of place where time seems to slow down, allowing you to savor each sip of your coffee and each bite of your meal. Whether you’re catching up with an old friend, working on a project, or simply taking a moment for yourself, The Smooth Cafe offers an inviting space that makes every moment feel special.
