Lunar New Year collections can be a tricky space to navigate for luxury brands. Too often, it feels like some labels jump on the bandwagon simply to attract Chinese buyers, delivering collections that lack substance. But not Gucci. The house continues to invest its heart and soul into these seasonal releases, showcasing designs that are not superficial, but instead truly honor tradition.


For the Year of the Snake, Gucci's Creative Director Sabato de Sarno draws on the brand’s deep-rooted connection to family, heritage, and symbolism. With global ambassadors Xiao Zhan and Ni Ni leading the campaign, the collection celebrates transformation and renewal, pivoting the snake’s symbolism away from traditional notions of power and wisdom. Instead, de Sarno uses the motif to explore growth and evolution.


The collection features bold colors on intricate silk floral scarves, shirts adorned with the iconic GG monogram and winding snakes, as well as Gucci Re-Web sneakers in beige and ebony GG canvas. The Blondie bag features the reimagined snake design, further emphasizing the theme of transformation.


Gucci is no stranger to the serpent—it has been their signature for years. However, this collection reinterprets the motif in a modern light, with the snake symbolizing a fresh start, making this Lunar New Year release unforgettable.
