For the Fall/Winter 2024 collection, Dior draws inspiration from the legendary Soviet ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev. The collection pays homage to the art of dance, intertwining the discipline, dedication, and mastery that both Dior and ballet have in common. The collection echoes sixties and seventies references, with understated hues, impeccably tailored jackets, luxurious ribbed knits, and elegantly flared trousers. Each look is complemented by ballet-referencing footwear, merging the worlds of fashion and dance.
Noteworthy pieces include an unchikake kimono featuring exquisite hikihaku weaving, a masterpiece crafted over three months by ten skilled artisans in a specialized Japanese atelier. Additionally, the revival of an archival 1962 jacket by Marc Bohan is adorned with intricate crystal and wool dévoré effects, emphasizing the meticulous attention to detail synonymous with Dior.
